stewards of every green thing
tending to the well being
of the green earth
preserving and restoring
harmony and balance
to every living thing
though lost are the entwives
and few have become the ents
so few left who nurture
so few left who protect
against so many hell bent
on the destruction of everything
with no entwives
no generation of entings can there be
to whom can be given
the legacy of the ents
when at last the ancients are no more
who will carry on?
who will protect and nurture the trees?

their words can still be heard
like rolling thunder across the plains

There is a shadow Of the Great Darkness
in the deep of the forrest
it is we who must take on their visage
to become more tree-like
to become their enting offspring
to take up their call and their cause
it is we who must be the generation
to once again shepherd the trees
and nurture every green thing
